And Other Stories will publish the UK edition of Cody Caetano’s Half-Bads in White Regalia, an idiosyncratic and high energy coming-of-age memoir in which the only thing that’s stable is instability. Capturing the chaos and wonder of a precarious childhood, Caetano’s debut has a style all of its own, fusing gamer slang and hip-hop rhythms, as well as the Portuguese and Anishinaabe languages.
A writer of Anishinaabe and Portuguese descent and an off-reserve member of Pinaymootang First Nation, Cody Caetano has an MA in Creative Writing from the University of Toronto, where he wrote this memoir under the mentorship of Lee Maracle. Excerpts of Half-Bads in White Regalia earned him a 2020 Indigenous Voices Award for Unpublished Prose.
Cody Caetano said:
I am so pleased that Half-Bads in White Regalia will make its way to new readers through the inimitable And Other Stories. My gratitude to Tara Tobler and the whole team for taking a bet on this book.
Half-Bads in White Regalia will be published on March 3rd 2026.
