The four books featured in our Portugese Reading Group for Spring 2011 all involve journeys: the mysterious travels of a girl and her beloved dog across Portugal, the voyage of a holy statue over oceans and decades, the journey of discovery one woman must undertake to re-familiarise herself with her own country, and the subterranean race against time made by one man and one boy underneath the city of Lisbon. Care to accompany us on these journeys?

- Extracts in English are being added to this website where possible – see the relevant author’s page. Copies of the books in the original Portuguese are available to borrow from And Other Stories by emailing info@andotherstories.org
- Read the excerpts, then comment online via the author pages.
- Come to a meet-up (usually in London) to discuss what has been read. You can be sure of a lively, well-informed discussion.
