About the event
In anticipation of the Man Booker International Prize winner announcement on Tuesday 21st May, Foyles, Charring Cross are hosting a panel of the shortlisted translators for an evening of insight into the art of translation.

Annie Ernaux, translated by Alison L. Strayer, The Years (Fitzcarraldo Editions)
Marion Poschmann, translated by Jen Calleja, The Pine Islands (Profile Books, Serpent’s Tail)
Olga Tokarczuk, translated by Antonia Lloyd-Jones, Drive Your Plow Over the Bones Of The Dead (Fitzcarraldo Editions)
Alia Trabucco Zerán, translated by Sophie Hughes, The Remainder (And Other Stories)
Chaired by journalist and literary critic Ellah Wakatama Allfrey, this event will begin with readings from from former Man Booker Prize judge Olivia Williams. Followed by a discussion and readings about their shortlisted works by translators Marilyn Booth, Jen Calleja, Antonia Lloyd-Jones and Sophie Hughes.
The event will be followed by an audience Q&A and book signing.
