About the event

As part of Sheffield’s Migration Matters Festival, Wolfgang Bauer’s incisive, necessary reportage Crossing the Sea: With Syrians on the Exodus to Europe has been chosen as the first Migration Matters City Read! This means that during June, 600 free copies of the book will be given away in libraries and cafes across the city.

To coincide with the giveaway, we will be holding a friendly book club discussion with the book’s Sheffield-based translator Sarah Pybus and editor Stefan Tobler.

You can find a list of locations across the city where the book will be given away on our page about the Migration Matters City Read. Grab a copy and join us on 22 June!

Entry is free and all are welcome, including children if accompanied by an adult.
