Biography

Leonor Courtoisie (Montevideo, 1990) is a theatre maker, actress and writer. Since 2017 she has run the Uruguayan performing arts publisher Salvadora. She is also a member of the Directors Lab at the Lincoln Center in New York. Her play Duermen a la hora de la siesta (2019) won a National Literature Award of the Ministry of Education and Culture of Uruguay. She also received the Molière Award for theatrical creation granted by the French Embassy in Uruguay. She published the dramatic work Corte de obsidiana (2017) and the poetry book Todas esas cosas siguen vivas (2020). Irse yendo [Leave, Going] (2021) is her first novel.
