In 2017, we committed to four yearly, entry-level hires for people looking to get a foot in the door of publishing. We were particularly aware that publishing needs to create more jobs outside of the South East (we’re in Sheffield, in the North of England) and that publishing needs to be more inclusive. Early 2018 we hired Enobong Essien, who is now continuing in publishing from her new home in Chicago. We’re delighted our 2019 hire, the ever-impressive Javerya Iqbal, will stay with us in 2020. Who will join us next?
The successful candidate will be involved in all the stages of the publishing process including providing all-round assistance to the team, attending publishing meetings, events organisation, assisting on newsletter and blog posts, and providing subscriptions and administrative support.
This will suit someone who has a passion for literary writing, enjoys working in a team, is a good communicator, is organised, has a good eye for detail and is computer literate.
