Reading Women Book Club
Tuesday 3rd April, 1-2pm, and then every first Tuesday
Reading Room, Sheffield Central Library

Inspired by Joanna Walsh’s Twitter campaign #readwomen, we’re proud to launch Reading Women, a reading group dedicated to some of the most extraordinary recently-published literary fiction by women.

The And Other Stories team will meet on the first Tuesday of each month at 1pm in the Reading Room at Sheffield Central Library. Do join us – we would love to meet you and hear your thoughts. The first date for your diaries is Tuesday 3rd April, and our first book will be Joanna Walsh’s Worlds from the Word’s End.

We will alternate And Other Stories titles with a range of other brilliant books by women writers from across the world – we’re thinking of the likes of Leonora Carrington, Jessie Greengrass, Nawal El Saadawi and Sangeeta Bandyopadhyay.

What’s more, we’d love to support other reading groups around the UK (or the world!) focusing on women authors. From February, we’ll be offering the first three And Other Stories titles we’ll be reading – Joanna Walsh’s Worlds from the Word’s End, Ann Quin’s The Unmapped Country and Alicia Kopf’s Brother in Ice – as a discounted bundle on our website. We’ll share the link to buy the bundle as soon as possible. And bookshops and group organisers: get in touch if you want some prompts for discussion!

Reading Women is open to all – do join us.
