We are almost lost for words at And Other Stories today:
just getting used to the idea of Swimming Home being in the running for the Man Booker Prize was quite something. But today’s news that Deborah Levy’s superb novel has been shortlisted is awe-inspiring and no less than this book deserves. When we read it two years ago, it was clear this was a book to start a publisher for. It is now one of six in line for the highest accolade for British and Commonwealth fiction published in the last year.
We are delighted for Deborah. Also rather proud of ourselves in our first year and – of course – proud of our wonderful supporters who have allowed us to publish this book and bring it to so many readers. Thank you.
Perhaps we’ll now allow ourselves to keep our fingers crossed for the next month or so…
