At the European Bookshop, Clemens Meyer and Juan Pablo Villalobos talked about their work and read some carefully selected extracts from All The Lights and Down the Rabbit Hole with their translators Katy Derbyshire and Rosalind Harvey. Followed by a Q&A and the vital drinks reception.

A discussion to mark the launch of Clemens Meyer’s first and long-awaited book in English, All the Lights. Clemens Meyer was in conversation with Stuart Evers, a critic and author of Ten Stories about Smoking, and with Katy Derbyshire, translator of All the Lights and a number of other contemporary German works of fiction.
Followed by a drinks reception. Supported by the German Embassy.
Juan Pablo Villalobos on Mexican Literature
Juan Pablo talked about contemporary Mexican literature and read from his newly launched novel Down the Rabbit Hole. This talk accompanied the Mexican art exhibition at the Pallant House Gallery.

Juan Pablo Villalobos also went along to London Zoo on Friday 19th, and met the zoo’s two pygmy hippos, Nicky Noo and Thug. It all went much more smoothly than in Down the Rabbit Hole, we are pleased to report.
