And Other Stories’ two launch authors, Juan Pablo Villalobos, author of Down the Rabbit Hole, and Clemens Meyer, author of All the Lights, were invited to the 2011 Edinburgh International Book Festival:

Juan Pablo Villalobos (and David Whitehouse) – Monday 15 August; 5:00pm – 6:00pm; RBS Corner Theatre, Edinburgh

Clemens Meyer (and Stuart Evers) – Tuesday 16 August; 5:00pm – 6:00pm; RBS Corner Theatre, Edinburgh

As both author’s books are their first to be published in English, they are eligible for the festival’s Newton First Book Award. If you like what you’ve read of their work, do nominate them! You can do it on the Book Festival pages for the events with Juan Pablo Villalobos and Clemens Meyer.

The fantastic Edinburgh independent bookshop Word Power Books was also kind enough to invite Juan Pablo Villalobos to read at their Book Fringe event on Monday 15th, in spite of Down the Rabbit Hole‘s Tochtli not being satisfied with a dog as a pet. Luckily Marshall, the bookshop’s resident canine, seemed to like the rest of the passage Villalobos read out.
