Publishers Meike Ziervogel (Peirene Press) and Stefan Tobler (And Other Stories) discuss two internationally celebrated short novels, Beside the Sea by French writer Véronique Olmi and Down the Rabbit Hole by Mexican writer Juan Pablo Villalobos. Down the Rabbit Hole is a darkly comic novel about the isolated son of a Mexican drug baron. What he wants more than anything is a pygmy hippopotamus from Liberia.
